Research Focus

Ziyu Zhao is a PhD student in the Department of Communication with a designated emphasis in Computational Social Science at UC Davis. She received her Masters in Communication Management from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Ziyu's research sits at the intersection of human behavior, cognitive processes, and digital media engagement, with a particular focus on how cumulative exposure to short-form video shapes attention over time. To investigate these questions, Ziyu draws on methods including electroencephalography (EEG), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and statistical modeling.
